CVS coupon in mail

Along with the coupons that I get in my e-mail to send to my card, I also receive occasional coupons in the mail from CVS.  They are almost always good at least a week to two weeks AFTER you receive them, so you have to put them in a safe place where you will remember to use them.  This one is good for 25% off your entire purchase from Sunday, September 29 through Wednesday, October 2nd.  I usually go shopping on Saturday, so will have to wait to shop at CVS until Sunday this week.  Let me tell you...25% off can really add up!

This will be a good time to check my stock of shampoo, conditioner, razors, face wash, toilet paper, detergent, papertowels and other items that I try to get at CVS if they are on sale.  I almost always have a manufacturer's coupon to go with them, too.

So we will see how much of a savings I get from this coupon when I shop on Sunday!  Stay tuned!

Albertson's coupons were great!

Saturday at Albertson's was another stock up Saturday.  The reason?  In Wednesday's ad, there was a whole page of coupons that had awesome deals!  Above is a picture of a few of the items that I took advantage of through either Albertson's coupons, or a few I had of my own.

The biggest deal by far was in the meat department.  I always buy 93% lean hamburger.  It is lower in fat, and I am trying to eat healthier.  93% lean burger is normally $4.05 per pound...and sometimes as high as $4.99 per pound.  It was on sale at the meat counter for $3.99 per pound.  The coupon made it $2.99 per pound with a limit of 10 pounds.  So I bought 4 packages of 1.5 pounds and 4 packages of 1 pound.  I froze all of it and will use it as the weather gets cooler for chili, spaghetti sauce, tacos and taco soup.

They also had coupons for Fritos, Brawny Paper towels and Northern Tissue, Sugar, Challenge Butter, Orange juice, and shredded and chunk cheese.

I used 3 manufacturer's coupons for the paper towels and tissue along with the Albertson's coupons and also used a coupon for the Pine Sol saved a total of $51.92!

Free stuff at CVS from EXTRACARE!

I love CVS and their ExtraCare card program!  Last week I shopped and used quite a few coupons, and ended up with a $6.00 and a $5.00 extra bucks coupon!

Yesterday I had to fill a prescription.  At CVS you can register for a program with the Pharmacy where you fill 10 prescriptions and get a $5.00 extra bucks reward coupon.  Today, I hit my 10th prescription and the coupon printed on my receipt.

So, that meant I had $21.00 in credit!  So I decided to get a refill ink cartridge for my printer so I can print more coupons!  That retailed for $20.99.  So it was FREE!!!

I also bought a magazine and used a $1.00 off coupon for that, and bought a padded envelope.  I received an e-mail from CVS and loaded a 25% off coupon onto my ExtraCare card.  So at CVS, I bought 3 items totaling $28.17 and paid $1.62 out of pocket!  That was a savings of 26.55!

CVS also has a Beauty Club program.  For every $50 you spend, you earn $5 in extrabucks, so it is worth signing up for...especially if you have 3 girls in the house!

Saturday is my shopping day.  This Saturday was 'stock up day'.  I started my trip at CVS.  I needed detergent, and they had Gain and Tide on sale.  I also needed shampoo for myself and my daughter who lives on her own, but will take Mom's hand outs!  The rest of my CVS list included:  Cascade dishwasher tabs, Dial Men's body wash, Covergirl Make up for daughter, Puffs tissue, Venus razors, Bounty paper towels, Clearasil wipes and Snickers bites (for daughter because I had a coupon).

I received a coupon in the mail a couple weeks ago for 20% off my entire order ($6.96) on September 14 or 15th.  I used 2 CVS kiosk coupons ($6.00) and 13 manufacturer's coupons.  Before my coupons, I was at $98.54.  After my coupons I ended up paying 70.54!    Out of my 20 items, 14 were on sale, so I saved a total of 47.66!  Also, I received a $6.00 Extra Bucks Reward for next time and a $5.00 Extra Bucks Reward for next time!  So, that is another $11.00 in free, free, free!!!

Next stop was Target.  I had a coupon for $3.00 off a women's clothing item, so bought Daughter a top (yes, she is spoiled!  LOL!)  Also had coupons for Northern toilet paper and milk bone dog treats.  Normally I try to stack coupons at Target, and I am learning more about the Target Cartwheel app on my Android phone.  I will try and do more with those for future shopping trips.  But I still saved $5.85 with coupons at Target for this trip with 4 coupons.

Last stop for today was Albertson's.  I used 13 coupons at Albertson's and saved $8.95.  I also took advantage of  their 'Mix and Match' sale and got 2 Catalina coupons for 25 bonus Box tops for education tabs.  Box tops are worth 10 cents each for schools, so that is an extra $5.00 worth of box tops for my niece, who teaches school near Chicago.  The sale items I stocked up on at Albertson's netted me another $44.11 in savings.  When I count my coupon savings, I don't include the 'sale price' savings although that is important to me in the long run.  I keep track of my coupon savings, to see if it really is worth the time to print, search for inserts, cut out coupons and look for the coordinating sales for the best deals in my area.  I'm still learning and trying.

So the Saturday Stock up went like this:

CVS:  $33.96 + $11.00 for next time
Target:  $5.85
Albertsons:  $8.95

$48.76 On 33 coupons!

I have been couponing off and on for about a year.  I have noticed in the last 6 months or so that the coupons are in smaller amounts, the effective dates are shorter in duration and the products that have coupons do not repeat with the frequency they did in the past.  Still, I am trying to lower my grocery bills the best I can.

I regularly use coupons at CVS, Walgreens and Albertsons.  With this blog, I will try and post what is working for me, what I save and we'll see how it goes.

I am blogging from Central Montana.  We do not have grocery stores that do Double or Triple coupons EVER.  Sometimes we will have coupon round up at Albertson's.

So, next post I will talk about CVS and how their program works (and is working for me.)

So, til next time, Dee is Couponing in the Falls
